Where on earth have I been all summer? Other than our trip back to Canada and two trips to Maui and one trip to the Big Island, I have been busy spending time with Kira before she heads back to school.
However, I do have some art news. I found a wonderful gallery on Maui. It’s on Front St. in Lahaina. http://www.imagesinc.com
I just finished a commission of Bella. She is a German Short Haired Pointer.

I have not chosen a name for my Sandman painting because I am donating it to the Hawaii Humane Society to use as their Christmas Card this year. Thanks for you suggestions, but I think I would like to leave it up to them.
I am also donating some artwork to be used by the Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle for invitations to their Christmas house tour.
Busy. Busy. Stay tuned!
Aloha,
Susan
Summer is flying by and I haven’t had a lot of time to write or paint. We spent some time back in the old country (Canada) visiting family and friends as well as some time on Maui.
I’ve chosen to enjoy time with Kira (while she still wants to hang with me) and not focus on painting until she starts back to school.
However, I couldn’t resist working on this adorable little pug.
It’s a small painting, but hopefully big in character.
Aloha, Susan

I decided that I have to start thinking of ways to make my art more affordable – at least until this crazy recession ends. I discovered a wonderful company that puts images onto various products. That is the direction I would ultimately like to take my art, so I decided that I would test the waters.
I ordered a tote bag with the painting of Malia on it. The image is woven, not printed, so the texture is fantastic. I’m pretty thrilled with it.

I will be offering this image and others on my website soon.

It took a couple of weeks, but with tons of hard work from the staff and our flowers, the foster home looks like a home and is ready to open it’s doors.
Once again, I would like to thank my friends Lorna & Karen and my new recruits, Laurie, Ingrid & Kira for being such great helpers! You gals rock! If it wasn’t for all of you, I would have had to sleep there to get it all done.

And of course, as always, Malia was extremely supportive.
Here are more flowers…
This was a wonderful experience. I will go up there occasionally to touch up the flowers and add more wherever/whenever they would like. Kira also wants to join me to help paint, or play with the kids. Sigh. That really makes me happy.
